I created this site shortly after The Fanlistings Network chose me as the new owner on June 22nd, 2007. I find forests to be beautiful places with various moods: dark, magical, mysterious, creepy, what have you. Therefore, it has been increasingly difficult to stick with a name I like, because forests are so very universal! Originally, I called it Sylvan Shadows. It was a friend's idea and I loved it for both the beauty and darkness that I feel that it represents. Sylvan comes from the latin word for forest, whereas Shadows is based on the many shadows cast by the lives inhabiting the space.

However, I grew tired of the old name as it just didn't seem to fit forests perfectly enough. So, I went to my friend Crystal to ask for help (why yes, I am terrible at coming up with my own names). After much time passed, she thought of Season's Paradise, because forests are one of the best places to look at when watching the seasons change, and they're so beautiful with each season that it's like a paradise. That name change took place on December 18th, 2007 when I put up a new layout for my precious forest fanlisting.

Ah, but clearly I am still not done talking about the name, because if you look at the header, it has changed again! The forest fanlisting currently masquerades under Solace, a word meaning comfort and peace. I adore forests because of the tranquility and the calm that washes over me if I even so much as sit on the outskirts of one. Simple, clean and to the point. I like it!

Resources

The layout's graphics are mostly done with basic tools from Paint Shop Pro 7, and the leaves and ladybug on the footer are picture tubes. The dew drops at the top are a stock image from stock.xchng. The website is coded in Notepad and runs on Enthusiast, Icon Sort and FanUpdate.
